Newborn Prep Guide
Book before your baby is born:
It's best to do newborn sessions when infants are between 5 to 14 days old. That’s a small window of time, so you need to book the newborn in your second or third trimester to ensure I will have space available for you. Then, once your sweet baby is born, let me know the exciting news, and we can schedule a date and time for the photoshoot. If you didn't get a chance to book your session until after your baby is born, feel free to contact us. We might have space available for you.

Before the Session
- Follow your regular routine at home before the session. Please don't have any visitors the night before or the day of the session so that your baby is calm and relaxed for the session.
- Feed your baby and change his/her diaper right before leaving for the photoshoot.
- Please have a pacifier ready (if baby takes one).
- If the baby uses a bottle, please bring a few bottles and have a couple ready on hand as he/she will likely need a mid-session top-up
During The Session
- Please try to arrive on time. Sometimes, newborn session can take longer than expected. I suggest setting aside at least 3 hours for the session and not booking any appointments or making plans right after the session.
- I prepare the newborn setups ahead of time and all the outfits/wraps/accessories and props will be ready for you when you arrive. If your baby is fed and doesn't need a diaper change, I will start the session right away. I'll change the baby into wraps/outfits during the session.
- Sit and relax and enjoy the session. Don't worry or stress as babies can feel their mom's tension and stress. If your baby is fuzzy during, I'll use various techniques to calm the baby: wrapping and rocking the baby and playing calming music does the trick. If your baby doesn't settle at all (which rarely happens), we can always reschedule.
- Your baby might need to be fed and may need a diaper change mid-session. We will take breaks as needed.
